Our business is built on a foundation of excellent butchery and the current team of severn members of staff has over 162 years combined experience in the industry.

Our traditional butchery methods combined with modern ways of packing and delivering meat means we can provide you with the best service possible straight to your door.

But if you’re not sure what you want, our team know exactly what cuts and produce will suit your needs best, including information on weight, size and cooking advice. Whether you deal with senior butchers, trainee butchers, bakery assistants, delivery drivers or manufacture assistants - we make sure everyone in our team knows the answers to your questions.

As a family butcher you can be safe in the knowledge we do not compromise on quality. We use traceable local meat, create a range of British products on site at our shop and offer a reliable and friendly service.

All our staff at G. N. Badley & Sons share the same vision to deliver the best possible products at a competitive price whether we see you face to face or you order from our website.

Neither so we compromise on welfare or hygiene - we hold the English Beef and Lamb Quality Standard mark.


Our History

Keith Badley with Kay Badley 2010Our business was opened in March 1976 by Gordon Badley and his son Keith Badley.  Today the family tradition continues here as it is now Simon Badley, Keith’s son, and Kay Badley, Keith’s wife.

Throughout the years the business has developed and adapted to the needs of our customers.  Keith and Gordon initially launched a wholesale and catering focused company with butcher and catering establishments throughout the West Midlands.

At the turn of the millennium Keith began to take a more retail focus and soon established a reputation as an excellent, reliable butcher for all your family needs.

The website launched in 2012 and since then we have transformed into a vibrant butchers with innovating ideas. In an ever changing market, we launched an online shop and have not looked back since.

We are available for bulk ordering and provide great wholesale offers on British meat; beef, pork, chicken and more.

No order is too big or too small for G. N. Badley & Sons, where here if you need one chop for yourself, 20 chops in individual bags for your freezer or 50 chops for your BBQ. We will cut the produce to your requirements, pack it how you want it and even provide delivery to your chosen address.




Our Team


Simon Badley - Managing Director and CEO

Having grown up surrounded by the business, Simon has been a lifelong member of staff at G. N. Badley & Sons.
His dad Keith set up the business in 1976 and taught him about butchery when he was young. He has learnt about cuts of meat, running a business and delivery and order systems.
Simon is rarely in the shop itself but spends most of his time running things behind the scenes - knee deep in paperwork.

Kay Badley - Director of Operations

Having previously worked in Boots as a pharmacy assistant, Kay took a career change in 1991 and joined the family business her husband had set up.
She has spent 24 years in the industry and learnt just how diverse it is. her passion comes from knowing what is involved in butchery - from when a body of beef is delivered to how it ends up on the counter.
A typical day for Kay involves liaising with staff on orders, answering phones, completing paperwork, keeping on top of all cooked items and ensure all staff are happy!
Her favourite cut of meat: It is difficult for Kay to choose between a brisket of beef, as you can do so much with it, or a sirloin steak - but she’s pretty sure a sirloin just tops it!

Lee Evans - Butchery Manager

Lee has been in the butchery industry for 27 years and at G.N. Badley & Sons for 26 years, you can do the maths! He is part of the furniture and an integral part of the team who loves meeting customers, coming up with ideas for new flavours and the display of the counter. Every day Lee buys products, conducts meat management and stock rotation.
His favourite cut of meat: A rump steak cooked rare with homemade chips and the blood of the steak soaking the chips.

Aran Pearson - Trainee Butcher

This is Aran’s first job in the butchery industry and he has been at G.N. Badley & Sons for 4 years. He has learnt about how much preparation there is to do to meat before it is sold to customers and realised there is a lot more to butchery than he ever imagined. Aran makes sausages, burgers and faggots every week and is quickly learning more about butchery every day - he thinks the shop is a good environment to work in, with a family feel.
His favourite cut of meat: A sirloin steak because it’s the easiest to cook!
